Watch People Jam Out to the Tetris Theme Song in Just Dance
Not only is the Tetris Theme catchy, it's also great for busting a move!
In 2015, Ubisoft featured a special dance based on the Tetris Theme song in its Just Dance 2015 video game. In the dance, up to four players can hop in and embody their favorite Tetrimino. The dance itself is pretty clever because it has moves that group you and your dance partner(s) together, just like a real life game of Tetris!
Following the release of Just Dance 2015, people from all over the world attempted this unique Tetris dance. One example comes from YouTube gamer iHasCupquake. In the video, Cupquake and her husband face off in a Tetris dance battle.
What’s great is you can tell the two didn’t rehearse this dance prior to giving it a try, which makes watching their interpretation of it all the more fun. We can definitely relate, as it typically takes us a few rounds before we get the hang of this routine in Just Dance. Cupquake and her husband aren’t the only ones to try out the Tetris Theme dance. In fact, a group of professional dancers decided to give it a try at one of the Just Dance 2015 promotional events.
We love how the crowd watches the four dancers. Meanwhile, the dancers smile and make faces throughout, showing that despite how hard the dance might be, they’re not breaking a sweat! That said, it probably helps to have four dancers working together in unison, especially for those moments where one Tetrimino has to be lifted!
It’s awesome to see so many interpretations of the Tetris dance on YouTube spanning from hilarious to serious. It just goes to show that the Tetris Theme is one of the world’s greatest pieces of gaming music. Plus, the theme has longevity on its side. The famous music got its start as an old Russian folk song called Korobeiniki.
If you want to learn more about the history behind the catchy tune, we have a feature that explains how Korobeiniki became the Tetris Theme you know and love today. Have you ever tried out the Tetris dance? If not, we highly recommend giving it a try!
